APPLE PAPER:
Apple paper is a modern upcycled paper which is made from organic residue from industrial apple processing. It is food-safe, eco-friendly, fully biodegradable and 100 % recyclable. The paper surface has a characteristic look: It contains visible inclusions consisting of the residue from apple processing. During the manufacturing process, chlorine-free (ECF) as well as FSC certified pulp is combined with the organic products from apple processing. Hence, apple paper contributes to reducing the environmental impact by reusing a valuable raw material and by reducing the amount of organic industrial waste that has to be disposed of.
GRASS PAPER:
Grass paper is made of up to 40 % fresh fibres of sun-dried grass and hay from the Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve (permanent grassland) that regrows several times a year. It is free from pesticides and fertilisers. The FSC certified paper is food-safe, recyclable and completely compostable. Moreover, grass paper is 100% vegan/free of animal products. No process chemicals are used in the processing of the fresh fibres. The industrial water consumption is less than one litre per tonne of grass fibre pulp and 50 % less carbon is produced due to short transport routes. Grass paper has excellent offset printing properties and good ink absorption. 100 % naturally dyed papers without use of brighteners This may result in slight colour deviations. The printed designs and inks look rather dull and less brilliant since the paper surface absorbs the inks (e.g. jet black looks more dark grey). The colour of the paper also affects colour reproduction.
